PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE
On 7-8 July 2016 The REAL team gathered at the University of Warwick to discuss the past, present and future of food security in Eastern Africa. The training workshop was held at the Global History & Culture Centre.
The meeting started on Thursday 7 July with sessions on budget planning and research project financial management as well as on REAL outreach and knowledge transfer components. On day two of the workshop the focus shifted to food security: Presentations on issues of food security in Eastern Africa from an archaeological perspective (Daryl Stump, University of York), a historical perspective (David Anderson, University of Warwick) and a policy perspective (Jason Mosley, Chatham House) provided an excellent basis for a round table discussion on scenario building on the future food security of Eastern Africa.
